Hello Opera Teens!
It is the first dress rehearsal of the season on Thursday, November 9th with FGO’s production of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. If you don’t already know the story, here is a brief synopsis. We will meet up in the main lobby of the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Ziff Ballet Opera House; a row of seats near the orchestra pit is always reserved for Opera Teens. Please arrive at 6:30PM to be on time for ushering. Only small bags are allowed (if you must bring a backpack, let us know). Most of the audience tends to dress formally for this event, but know that it is not required.
Rules are changing for this season’s dress rehearsals. All other invited guests must pay $1 for entrance (to emulate the payment for an actual performance’s tickets), but Opera Teens’ complimentary tickets remain free! If you wish to invite a few guests of your own, please state how many so that we may reserve the correct number of tickets for you. Dress rehearsals are meant for students, so if a parent/guardian/family member is accompanying you, a chaperone ticket application must be filled out; please limit to inviting one chaperone. You may invite as many friends as you please, and you will receive the free tickets accordingly!
If any of you are available to volunteer for this event, please let us know in the JotForm! We need volunteers for the following tasks: man the desk in the lobby in order to hand out badges to Opera Teens and check off guests’ arrivals; usher in guests coming in through various entrances; set up rows of seats in the opera house that are reserved for those in either the Opera Teens or Cadenza program!
Make sure you are in the Remind group to keep in contact with us (Noelia, Sebastian, and Tiffany) and receive updates. The link to RSVP is below, and it should be filled out no later than November 2nd. Please spread the word and invite your friends!
